Here we are on #blaugust day 19, and it’s the first day when I’ve completely mis-managed my time for writing. I’m really trying to honour the original idea of writing one post a day with no “catching up”, so I’m tapping this out on my phone. I usually use either my lunch hour, or when I first get home after work to write my posts, but I didn’t get a lunch break today, and I’m going out straight after work and likely won’t get home until close to midnight.
Work has been crazy busy this last week. There’s big changes to the way our IT infrastructure works, and it’s made a lot of problems for us. Tomorrow, I have one of several semi-annual catch-up evaluations with my manager, so that’s on my mind, too. But today I got to do something nice: I demonstrated Twine to a bunch of 9 – 11 year olds, and got to play the (shockingly bloodthirsty) games they came up with.
Yesterday I got go referee my first game of Traveller for my friend Matt, and that went really well. We have a kind of Blade Runner meets Mad Max thing going on, and I’m looking forward to our next session. I have some prep work to do before then, though.
Right now, though? Right now I’m looking forward to the weekend. Bring it on.
