Scruff and Suited Show 002: You Don’t Have To Go To Library School For That

Finally, episode two of The Scruff and Suited Show is here!

We talk mainly about books and our geeky book club, but also touch on bad movies, worse music, and how awesome we are at being librarians. Fuck modesty. There’s also innuendo, bursts of giggling laughter and charming British accents, of course.

Show notes and links

We’re still kind of playing around with the format. This episode is much shorter than the first one, and certainly a lot more sober. The tradeoff is we think we can do these shorter episodes much more often. I lament the lack of funky Dr Who chiptune intro music. We’re going to keep on going, experimenting and talking bollocks, but we’d really love to know what you think about what works and what doesn’t.

Nicely done, bromance. The shorter format is perfect. I’m not going to lie to you, I missed the drunken howling – but I think I’ve actually sorted out which of you is which in the sober version. One of you is British and the other one is British, right? And someone thrust you together?

I love the book talk, particularly the always welcome advice about what not to read; but I’m now much more curious about the actual book group people. And kind of wishing there was a comic strip or something. Actually, as long as I’m wishing for stuff, can I have a comic strip of your coworkers too? Because you guys are really good with the nicknames, and now I’m just curious about everybody. As with your first podcast, my favorite bit is how much you like each other, and how sharp you are together. You’re fun.

(I’d suggest changing the name of this podcasting venture to “Slightly More Complicated Than Necessary,” but it’s too long.)

Thanks for the feedback Kateri 🙂

I like the shorter format too, especially because it meant it was so much quicker to get online, with no editing. I might tack on some theme music next time. I like the structure and faux-professionalism it added.

And of course, we can do drunken howling in shorter bursts too, sometimes.

You’ve got me thinking about a kind of nickname cast-of-characters page now. Sadly I think a comic strip might be beyond our artistic talents though.
